We love looking at quilts and we know you do too. We are gathering photos of all of our amazing quilts and quilted items for your enjoyment.
We will be posting the largest known Guild collection of quilts, and certainly of Fair quilts, in the country. Ours has 30 years of fascinating quilts, many of which are uniquely influenced by the beautiful South Florida environment.
Also, watch here for the latest Show and Tell photos, where our members share their creativity and craftsmanship and a part of themselves in the stories about each piece. Many of these are quilts for others, including our community outreach contributions.
And, see the wide variety of our exciting programs and workshops, including making memory quilts, dying fabrics, hand-quilting, thread-painting, hand and machine applique, free-motion quilting, modern quilting, many projects, and art quilting.
The first gallery that we offer on this updated website is one that shows almost all 57 Welcome Home quilts made for Habitat for Humanity partner families as they accept the keys to their new homes. Each 20″ x 24″ Welcome Home quilted wall-hanging is personalized with the family’s name and house number and is presented at their home dedication ceremony.
These local, hard-working families have overcome huge obstacles and have taken courses on home finance and home maintenance and have contributed over 400 hours of community service. They have also saved up for their closing costs as they take on a 30-year no-interest mortgage.
The Palm Beach County Quilters’ Guild seeks to celebrate partner families’ accomplishments in presenting these Welcome Home quilts.
